Overview:
Looking for some new ways to engage students in authentic learning? The Digital Educator will explore a variety of digital tools for creation, critical thinking and collaboration. Throughout this workshop, participants will learn how to intentionally use technology for engaged learning and innovative instruction to create an exciting student-centered learning environment which uses efficient practices to help teachers maximize their face-to-face time with students.
Learning Outcomes:
- Learn to use technology with instruction to incorporate interactivity and quick formative assessment.
- Understand how technology can allow for differentiated instruction.
- Examine resources to allow students to become creators.
- Explore Breakout EDU.
- Be able to create and use videos and online resources for flipped learning.
- Explore GoOpen Resources and tailor them to specific lessons.
- Develop a Personal Learning Network to harness the power of social media to connect with experts, as well as authentic audiences.
Graduate-Level Continuing Education:
Two continuing education credits are available through MidAmerica Nazarene University at an additional cost of $90 per credit hour.
