Overview: 

The Math Workshop model is powerful in building a classroom environment that is intentionally organized to support all students in developing and understanding mathematics.  It is a philosophy that incorporates accessible tasks, open-ended problem solving, individual and small group guided instruction, student choice, and content immersed in the big ideas in mathematics. This book study will enable participants to successfully implement the transformational math workshop model of instruction through five accessible, manageable steps studied through 12 chapters. 

Learning Outcomes: 

  • Understand the Math Workshop model.
  • Learn how to create environments and structures for Math Workshop.
  • Learn routines to help students with number sense. 
  • Understand and learn strategies for guided math. 
  • Help students with self-reflection.
